Wendy has a background in real estate, having worked in the industry for about 10 years in various positions. She has been active in co-working communities since 2011, working with Marcus at CODUM and A Lab. Today she is Senior Operations Lead of CIC Rotterdam, where she manages the daily operations and functions in CIC Rotterdam’s very own startup story.
Marcus has an extensive background in the real estate and co-working industries. In 2008, he started CODUM in Rotterdam and has since developed over 36.000m2 of co-working in 9 buildings, across 3 cities, among which were Schieblock Rotterdam and A Lab Amsterdam. He has demonstrated the ability to spot potential and facilitate people and start ups so they can form powerful communities and thrive. Over the past years he built a strong community of almost 600 startups. Today he is the Managing Director of the first, outside U.S., expansion of CIC.
Lisette obtained a bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management in The Hague in 2011. After her studies, she spent some time working as a commercial real estate consultant before deciding to complete a masters in International Business at the University of London. At CIC Rotterdam, she is our Relationship Manager, representing CIC to prospective companies and supporting a portfolio of current clients at the highest levels of service.
Branka was born in Zagreb, Croatia. After finishing business and economics school in Zagreb, she moved to the Netherlands where she got her master’s degree in arts and economics at Utrecht School of the Arts. After finishing her studies she worked as program assistant and community and communications associate at the media and tech hub, A Lab Amsterdam. Now, she works to actively serve and build the community of innovators at CIC Rotterdam.
Melissa is the General Manager for CIC Rotterdam. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin, and went to work at the Mass Tech Collaborative’s Innovation Institute – a public agency focused on growing the innovation economy in Massachusetts. During her time there, Melissa helped launch a number of startup-focused initiatives and public-private partnerships. Following this, she joined the digital media startup Streetwise Media, and led its flagship property as General Manager until the company’s acquisition in 2013. Prior to becoming General Manager, Melissa helped extensively on CIC’s expansion to the Netherlands and launch in Miami, Florida.
Sofia joins as the Community Leader at CIC Rotterdam. She is energized by innovation, sustainability and the power of collaboration. Mixing sociology (B.Sc., University of Amsterdam), International Development Studies (M.Sc., Utrecht University), team leadership (Sonar Appartementen) and start up experience (Commonland) Sofia thrives to enable all members of CIC Rotterdam to reach their full potential and grow as a healthy, vibrant community that embraces Rotterdam, and beyond.
Lois was born in Vlaardingen, a Rotterdam suburb. She spent some of her childhood in the Alps where she learned to speak German. Lois studied International Media & Entertainment Management, and her internship brought her to Hilversum to work with a national broadcast channel. After this, she attended Troy University, in Alabama, for a semester studying Journalism and Psychology. Prior to CIC, Lois also did set management for a Dutch music label and managed a jazz bar in downtown Rotterdam. She is on CIC Rotterdam’s community team, working to build networks amongst our clients and a vibrant startup community.
Leen Bogerd has a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design Engineering and a master’s degree in Architecture. After having spent time freelancing at an architecture office, at Venture Café Rotterdam, and some other hands-on jobs, he landed at CIC Rotterdam as a part-time community team member doing various odd-jobs to help provide excellent service to our clients
